The initial round of tests of the 2nd version of the GAMBAS application prototype in Madrid have been completed successfully. Among other changes that improve the overall responsiveness, usability and robustness of the prototype, the 2nd version features a complete new set of GAMBAS-powered backend services. These services provide customized map tiles as well as dynamic street address resolution based on OpenStreetMap (OSM). In addition, they feature a custom transit routing engine that integrates OSM data with the open GTFS data provided by EMT Madrid. Given the current state of the prototype, the GAMBAS consortium is on track for releasing the application prototype publicly via the Google Play store at the beginning of November.
