Web-based Services for Elderly People and their Families
The goal of WEBDA is to enable elderly people suffering from dementia to stay at home independently for a longer period of time. To achieve this, the WEBDA project is developing novel services to train their cognitive abilities and to reduce the cognitive load of the elderly, to better structure their everyday tasks and to detect emergency situations. In addition, the services will also support the relatives that help the elderly people.
To do that, the WEBDA project applies RFID technology that can be used to localize lost objects and to detect emergency situations. This requires the development of new and the optimization of existing localization algorithms which is the primary task of the Networked Embedded Systems group.
